ICD-10-PCS Medical and Surgical-Related Coding is perfect as a follow-on to ICD-10-PCS Medical and Surgical Coding. Learner will apply knowledge such as definitions of root operations, the table concepts, and selecting the correct characters based on documentation.
ICD-10-PCS Medical and Surgical-Related Coding introduces the learner to the remaining sections of ICD-10-PCS:
- Lesson 1 covers Obstetrics
- Lesson 2 covers Placement, Administration, Measurement and Monitoring,
- Lesson 3 covers Extracorporeal Assistance, Performance, and Therapies
- Lesson 4 covers New Technology, codes for the newest procedures added to the coding system
In each lesson, learner will
- Identify the code format
- Define the root operations
- Identify procedure details that support the assignment of the root operations
- Assign codes from other sections as required
- Analyze operative report documentation to support correct assignment of all ICD-10-PCS character values including devices and qualifiers

Individual modules within ICD-10-PCS: Medical and Surgical-Related Coding offer partial CEU credit so you can earn credit as you go.
Lesson 1 introduces the Obstetrics section (1 CEU)
Lesson 2 covers the Placement, Administration, Measurement and Monitoring sections of ICD-10-PCS (1 CEU)
Lesson 3 helps you learn about the Extracorporeal Assistance, Performance and Therapies sections (1 CEU)
Lesson 4 describes New Technology codes for the newest procedures added to the coding system (1 CEU)
The level of effort to complete this course, start to finish, is equivalent to 4 CEUs and should take you approximately 4-12 hours to complete. Remember: You have access to the course materials for the full 16-week enrollment period and we encourage you to re-review any materials that are helpful to you.
Certificate of Completion
Upon successful completion of the course work, student will be able to download a Libman Education Certificate of Completion. The Certificate of Completion will list the course as awarding 4 CEUs.
