Professional Fee coding, or ProFee coding, focuses on the services provided by individual healthcare professionals, like physicians, nurse practioners, and others during a patient encounter. ProFee coding uses ICD-10-CM for diagnoses and CPT and E/M codes for procedures and services. These services can be provided in various settings, including physician offices and hospitals, and are billed separately from the facility charges.

Foundational training in ICD-10-CM and CPT and E/M is available from Libman Education.
