Outpatient

Outpatient coding focuses on the facility services provided during an encounter including Labs and Radiology, Emergency Room, Surgical Day Care, and Observation. Outpatient coding requires in-depth understanding of ICD-10-CM for diagnoses and CPT and E/M for procedures and services.

Foundational training in ICD-10-CM and CPT and E/M is available from Libman Education.

  • CPT®: Injection and Infusion Coding for Facilities explains I&I coding in a step-by-step process to ensure accurate coding of services provided in Oncology Units, Infusion Units, and Emergency Rooms.
  • One of the most demanding aspects of outpatient coding is the selection of injection and infusion (I&I) codes. As the sequel course to CPT®: Injection and Infusion Coding for Facilities, CPT®: Advanced Injection and Infusion Coding for Facilities describes the more complicated scenarios encountered when coding injections and infusions.
  • CPT®: Coding of Breast Procedures

Gail I. Smith, MA, RHIA, CCS-P

    $79.00
CPT coding of breast procedures requires detailed understanding of the structure of the CPT coding system, the guidance specific to proper coding of breast procedures, and clinical knowledge of both breast anatomy and current medical procedures. CPT®: Coding of Breast Procedures explores the documentation necessary to distinguish between similar or related common breast procedures and ensure coding is both accurate and complete.
  • CPT coding of obstetrical procedures performed by physicians and other providers requires detailed understanding of the structure of the CPT coding system, the guidance specific to proper coding of obstetrical procedures, and clinical knowledge of both anatomy and current obstetrical procedures.
