CPT and E/M Core Skills

Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes are used to describe tests, surgeries, evaluations, and any other medical procedure performed by a healthcare provider. Evaluation and Management (E/M) codes, a particular type of CPT code, capture the physician’s work: the skill, effort, time, and knowledge needed to diagnose and treat an illness or injury.
