Developed by ZHealth Publishing, the industry leader in interventional radiology coding, this series of 5 webinars offers a comprehensive curriculum on Cardiology procedures.
- Part 1: Focuses on CPT coding guidelines and documentation required for cardiac catheterization and coronary angiography. Common peripheral diagnostic procedures performed with heart catheterizations are also reviewed, with specific examples provided. (CIRCC Certified)
- Part 2: Covers CPT coding of percutaneous cardiac interventions performed in the cardiac catheterization lab. Specifically, the webinar examines all coronary artery interventions, such as stent placement, PTCA, atherectomy, and other revascularization procedures. Thrombectomy, thrombolysis, IVUS, OCT, NIR, and FFR are reviewed, and physician documentation requirements are discussed. Cardiac chamber interventions including patent foramen ovale, atrial septal defect, VSD, PDA closure, valve repairs, valvuloplasty, valve replacement, and left atrial appendage ablation among others are incorporated in this part of our cardiology series. (CIRCC Certified)
- Part 3: Focuses on CPT coding of peripheral diagnostic and interventional procedures performed in the catheterization lab. Major areas covered include catheter selections, diagnostic imaging, peripheral and visceral angioplasty, atherectomy, stent placement, thrombolysis, thrombectomy, and embolization. (CIRCC Certified)
- Part 4: Covers CPT coding of electrophysiologic procedures including mapping, pharmacologic challenge, diagnostic studies, and ablation. It discusses pacemaker and defibrillator insertions, revisions, and removals, as well as lead revisions and defibrillation testing. The five electrophysiology ablation procedure codes are reviewed, along with further clarifications of the extensive changes to these procedures codes. Numerous case examples demonstrate appropriate use of these codes. (CIRCC Certified)
- Part 5: Covers CPT coding of diagnostic cardiac catheterization, diagnostic imaging, and cardiac interventions in patients with congenital heart defects. The webinar discusses common congenital syndromes and pertinent anatomy. Appropriate coding of peripheral diagnostic imaging and interventional procedures that may be performed in conjunction with congenital heart catheterizations, along with the complex cardiac chamber interventions performed on these patients, are also discussed. Bundling, documentation, and catheter placements are also discussed. (CIRCC Certified)
Webinars must be completed by 1/31/2023.
