Just confirming –
If a Transjugular Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt (TIPS) procedure is performed, and Intra-Cardiac Echo (ICE) is used – does it fall under the “all associated imaging guidance” or can Intra cardiac echo be charged separately with 93662?
Answer:
Code 37182 is NOT a base code for 93662, so you cannot report 93662. Same with Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS).
We consider it part of “all associated imaging guidance” as you suggest.
