BEDFORD MASSACHUSETTS April 18, 2013 – Susan Pepple, Vice President and COO of Libman Education, Inc., has been appointed to the Workforce Workgroup of the Council for Excellence in Education of the AHIMA Foundation.

“I am honored and excited to have an opportunity to serve on the Workforce Workgroup.  As a provider of workforce training products, we believe it is critically important that the education available to current and future HIM professionals reflects the requirements and opportunities that exist in the workplace.  This is important for the students as well as the employers but critically important for the future of HIM as a profession,” said Susan Pepple.

“Susan represents an opportunity to bring in the perspective of non-academic education providers which are an increasingly important part of the workforce training puzzle,” said Melinda Teel, RHIA, CCS, Program Director, HITECH and HIT Midland College, Midland, Texas and Chairperson of the Council for Excellence in Education Workforce Workgroup.

The Workforce Workgroup of the Council for Excellence in Education (CEE) supports the “HIM Jobs for America” initiative with a forward-moving, forward-thinking vision.  The CEE is the leading force in education strategy for the HIM profession and seeks to collaborate with stakeholders and ensure education is positioned as the cornerstone of a thriving HIM profession.  The CEE is a component of the AHIMA Foundation.
