BEDFORD, MASSACHUSETTS – July 31, 2014 – Libman Education has released a companion video tutorial to its popular ICD-10 Root Operations Flash Cards. Presented by nationally recognized ICD-10 expert Lynn Kuehn, MS, RHIA, CCS-P, FAHIMA, the free video breaks down how to properly use the cards in an engaging, concise manner.
“The video’s design is to help those with the flash cards to apply them as quickly and easily as possible,” said Kuehn. “The graphical presentation makes the tutorial fun and engaging. In just seven minutes, you are equipped to use the cards to efficiently identify the complex root operations. When you can do this, you are on the road to ICD-10-PCS success.”
“The cards themselves have been really successful, and have received very positive feedback,” Kuehn added. “This video is a great way to get the word out to others who can benefit from them.”
This set of nine 5×7, double-sided cards are designed by Gail I. Smith, MA, RHIA, CCS-P, also a nationally recognized ICD-10 expert. The cards help coders to learn the ICD-10-PCS root operations quickly and understand how to identify each in a medical record. The front of each card lists the root operations grouped by common characteristics. The back of each card provides a detailed definition of each root operation, highlighting how to distinguish one root operation from another, and provides examples of each.
